A source is a starting point.
Not a blanket endorsement.

A federal publication can establish a population count without proving an individual company’s information, a commercial claim, or product availability.

Does “2025 profile” mean the count was measured in 2025?

No. The profile is the 2025 publication. The count and employment tables used here cite 2022 Census data. Other tables in the original profile use other periods.

Is a business the same as a location?

No. A firm can operate more than one establishment. Do not add business, establishment, and location counts as if they describe the same unit.

Does “no paid employees” mean no work is being done?

No. It is a statistical business category, not a judgment about an owner’s effort, ambition, revenue, or support needs.

Can this show which businesses want to sell?

No. These aggregate counts contain no business-level sale intent, asking price, readiness, or permission to approach an owner.
