Know your businesses. Help them move forward.

See the businesses in the area you serve, understand what they need and connect owners with the right help. Private records stay with each owner.

See every business you serve.

SMB finds the businesses in your area by town and industry, and shows how long each one has been open where that’s known. Then pick one need to start with. Each owner decides the rest.

  • Owner transitions

See which businesses have been open eight years or more. Each owner decides whether to plan a transition, when to start and which advisors see their records.

  • Growth

See the mix of industries in your area. Each owner sets their own goal and chooses who helps them reach it.

  • New businesses

See businesses less than a year old, where a founding date is known. Each owner decides whether to get help now, and from whom.

See what your program changed.

With Community Coverage, your program report shows who joined, what they worked on and what helped, without opening anyone’s books.

How Community Coverage works

What the report covers

Small groups are combined so no one stands out.

  1. Who joined

Who was eligible, and who signed up.

  2. Goals owners set

Grouped by kind, like growth, funding or an owner transition.

  3. What helped

The help owners used, and what still needs support.

A few practical questions.

Do we need a program to help one owner?

No. Start with one owner and the work they want help with. A sponsored program is a separate arrangement for a group of businesses.

Can we see an owner’s books?

No. Sponsoring access doesn’t open an owner’s books, messages or plans. Each owner decides what to share and with whom.

Does membership automatically include SMB?

No. A sponsored benefit needs agreed rules for who can join, what’s included and for how long. Being a member of a chamber or association doesn’t include it on its own.

Does this make our organization an SMB partner?

No. The organization types on this page are ways to take part, not existing partnerships or endorsements. Named programs have their own terms.

Can we use SMB’s business data in our own work?

Yes. You can bring SMB’s business data into your research and your own tools. The Data page explains what’s available.

Tell SMB about your community.

SMB asks who you serve, the area you cover and what you want to learn, then shows what’s possible.
